Wood PVO Pergolas with stationary PV use off-the-shelf hardware. The 1-axis tracker has an added electric linear actuator, tracking controller and set of fabricated steel parts. A typical 4 PV panel row (above) includes a milled treated wood beam, 2"x4"s, stainless steel bolts, fender washers and small rubber pads. Durable exterior wood structures need additional care in wood selection, construction and maintenance. This can include tightening bolts after one year to compensate for wood shrinkage.
