PVO Pergolas More Solar

Solar Hot Water Pergolas: Solar thermal pergolas with flat-plate hot water solar collectors can be adjacent to buildings with short insulated distribution, supported on naturally round Black Locust wood columns, forming pleasant semi-shaded garden patio areas.
Heliostats and PV Pergolas: Building integrated two-axis tracking (azimuth-elevation photovoltaics (PV), and heliostat reflectors for process heat solar thermal applications like cooling, can be supported on pergola structures above roof terraces with Vierendeel type engineered frames.
PV on Used Wind Turbine Blades: Many wind farm rotor blades after the guarantee period (~20 years) may be replaced. An approach is to attach PV on used fiberglass blades for semi-shade pergola structures with two blade units bolted together with a splice pipe.

"... I see nothing technically wrong with ...using discarded wind turbine blades as structures for supporting solar panels..." Carlin Palmer, NREL, 7-20-05
